Walden / 08

Installation based on different observational media, looking at the phenomenon of observation in both hunting traditions and natural history, as well as defining space geography and methods of surveillance.
Aus der Heimat / 06

Series of work based on a song-book from 1917 intended for Alsatian soldiers enrolled into the German Army, that focuses mainly on topics of hunting related to catholicism. A series of drawings, audio recordings and photography made of familiar environments for the artist, reflects on traditions of hunting as identity-markers.
Oslobendje / 07

Drawing series produced during a 4-months residency in Sarajevo, 2007. During each day of residency, the artist read local newspapers and reacted directly to (and onto) them, reflecting on medial pictures and gathered memories.
L.L. / 03

Archival and photographic work developed from the artist’s own archive of photography and related ephemera.
Historical methods and documentation propose to secure evidence of both fictional and autobiographical facts.

Alphabet / 03

Installation based on a metal pencil case from the artist’s great-grand father. The case itself served as method to learn the alphabet; in fact the gothic letters also refer to semantic and linguistic changes that took place in the local area, which experienced frequent territorial shifts.

der christiliche Soldat / 02

Series of ca. 20 large and grand format mixed-media works 2002-03 based on hunting traditions and traditional regional mythologies.
Berliner Brauerei, Leninallee / 03

Organisation and Classification of Found Documents.

pp. 713-721 Handarbeiten, Ed. 10
/ 08

Mnemotechnical tool for household tasks, based on former teaching lessons.
Der weibliche Organismus / 08

Selection of drawings realised on the basis of the chapters “specificity of the skeleton system of the female body” and “female sexual organs”.
Bildsprachführer II / 06

This pictorial-dictionary is based on an original (from the artist’s archive, see “on-going Archive”) produced in 1943 for German soldiers serving in (Nazi) occupied territories in Eastern Europe.
The dictionary (over 100 pages) has been reproduced through drawing page-by-page and translated into English, serving as semantic tools for translation and territorial shifts.
Tischsitten / 08

Performative translation of some “good bahviour” lections, from the encyclopaedia “die Frau”, bringing the actual research into further use of semantics and obscure usage of scientific rationality.
